Britney Spears is back in the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) this August 28 for the first time in almost a decade. Before her much-awaited comeback performance at the VMA, the pop star will also be releasing her new album this August 26.
Oops, she?ll be doing it again? Spears will hit the VMA stage one more time with a performance of her new single from her upcoming Glory album, ?Make Me?,? alongside rapper G-Eazy. This will also be Spears?s first live performance after the release of her new album, CNN reports.
The pop star has already performed at the MTV VMA five times in the past and claimed some of the most iconic performances in the awards show. She has also been nominated 29 times at the VMAs, claiming six of the show?s Moonmen trophies. In 2011, she was awarded the Video Vanguard Award.
Before we see her perform once again at the MTV stage on the 28th, here?s a look back at her memorable VMA performances (via Billboard):
1999 ? ?Baby One More Time?
Spears debuted at the VMA in 1999 in a performance with boy band, NSYNC. In the performance, she recreated her schoolgirl look for ?Baby One More Time,? and owned the stage with a full-on dance routine. NSYNC performed their hit song, ?Tearin? Up My Heart.?
2000 ? ?Oops! I Did It Again?
At the start of the new millennium, Spears took the VMA stage wearing as little as possible for ?Oops! I Did It Again,? after stripping off her first outfit when she did a rendition of ?Satisfaction? by The Rolling Stones.
2001 ? ?I?m a Slave 4 U?
Her 2001 performance of ?I?m a Slave for You? is probably her most memorable performance that year as she strutted in a green bikini with a yellow boa draped over her shoulders. ?
2003 ? Kiss With Madonna
This big moment at the VMAs in 2003 was constantly voted VMAs greatest moment of all time. Madonna performed ?Like A Virgin? with Spears and Christina Aguilera for the show?s 20th anniversary, where the pop icon locked lips with both Spears and Aguilera.
2011 ? Video Vanguard Award
Spears was awarded the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2011 where a tribute of her biggest hits were shown on screen. Her award was presented by Lady Gaga.
Catch Britney Spears once again in her first ever VMA performance after almost a decade this August 28 on MTV. The show airs live at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
