Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Might Be Coming to the PS4 and Xbox One

By on

We all know Borderlands 2 has met a great deal of success. Since its release in September 2012, the game has sold more than 9 million copies, making it the best-selling game in the history of its publisher 2K Games. The game was made available for the PS3, Xbox 360, Mac, PS Vita, and the PC at that time. But when the latest installment of the game, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, was announced last April, many fans were disappointed when they heard that the game won?t be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Well, good news to all Xbox and PS4 owners out there! The developers of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel said in an interview with Gamereactor.eu that the game will possibly be coming to the next-gen consoles.

?I guess we?re full on developing that PS3, 360, and PC kind of game. And we really believe in that too, I mean all the players of Borderlands 2 are playing on those consoles. That?s the choice they?ve got,? said Tony Lawrence from 2K Australia.

But Lawrence didn?t exclude the game from being developed for the next-gen consoles. ?I mean if fans say we?d really want this on a next-gen console, well, we?ll think about that. But right now we?re concentrating on the consoles we have.?

Well there you have it. It seems that we can?t expect the game to be released on the PS4 and Xbox One anytime soon. But who knows, the release for the other platforms is still a few months away. By that time, maybe they already have decided to add some next-gen consoles to the release list.

Meanwhile, they also revealed a few stuff of what to expect in their upcoming game to get you more excited.

?We took it further. We?re on the moon and the moon allows us to fulfill some great promises of what you expect on the moon,? said Lawrence. ?You expect low gravity. You expect no atmosphere? it?s pretty cold up there. So yeah, why not have all of those things,? he continued.

It looks like we can expect nukes being detonated on the moon. In the meantime, PS4 and Xbox One owners should get their hands busy with other games before 2K Games decides to include these consoles.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is the direct prequel to Action-FPS game Borderlands 2. The game is scheduled to be released on October 14 this year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC.
