Blindspot Season 2 updates are here as the show?s premiere is fast approaching with fans anticipating the revelation of Jane Doe?s true identity. However, aside from Jane Doe, viewers of the TV series should also expect the revelation of the mysterious Shepherd?s identity, which according to reports is going to be played by Archie Panjabi.
It was recently reported that Panjabi of The Good Wife has been added to the cast of the TV series. Although her role in the story is still not clear, TV Line wrote that the character is someone who has been monitoring Jane Doe?s (Jamie Alexander) case behind the shadows.
That description somehow fits the role of Shepherd in the series given that the character has been closely monitoring Jane and Oscar?s (Francois Arnaud) activities in Season 1. It can be recalled that back in the first season?s finale, Oscar told Jane that Shepherd is the mastermind of their operation, which gave the fans the idea that the character is the major villain in the show.
To shed some light about the character, Movie News Guide wrote that show creator Martin Gero confirmed in recent interviews that Blindspot Season 2 is also going to reveal the identity of Shepherd. However, he was not generous enough to tell the fans whether the character is a man or a woman. But with all these details, fans are already expecting Panjabi to play the role of the villain.
Although it would be interesting to see The Good Wife star playing the role, it seems like that is not going to be the case. According to a recent post, Panjabi?s character is going to be the head of the secret NSA division that has been tracking Jane from afar. With that, it will create a new dynamic between the FBI team headed by Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and the NSA headed by the new character.
Shepherd?s identity or even the actor who will take on the role is still unknown. So, who do you think Shepherd is? Share your thoughts in the comment section below. Blindspot Season 2 is going to premiere September 21 on NBC at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
