Counting the weeks until Tite Kubo?s famous Bleach?manga ends, fans will surely miss the longtime presence of the serialized Japanese manga. In the 31st issue of Shueisha?s Weekly Shonen Jump, it indicated that the 74th volume of the manga, which is also expected to arrive this fall, will be the last.
While it?s sad to see the Bleach?manga ending soon, it hasn?t been as surprising given how it?s final story arc was finalized as early as February 2012. According to reports, ?Bleach? vol. 74 will work as the final arc that tells the story of Ichigo Kurosaki?s ancestry and his apparent connection to the The Quincy.
Bleach?follows the story of a teenager named Ichigo Kurosaki. Kurosaki acquired a power from the Soul Reaper: the power to see ghosts. While the power seems to be scary and an un-ideal one for a teenager, Kurosaki learned how to live with it. As days and years went by, he also learned how to use his power in order to protect the humans from getting invaded by the evil spirits. Aside from protecting them, he is also challenged to deliver the souls of the dead to the afterlife.
The Bleach?manga was first launched in the Weekly Shonen Jump in 2001 and since May 2006, it has released its 72nd volume. In North America, Viz Media is responsible for publishing Bleach?in English and will continue to do so until the final volume is released. Currently on its 66th volume since March 2016, Viz Media is expected to make some announcement about the manga?s upcoming ending.
Because the ?Bleach? manga is so popular not only in Japan, it also had an anime version that ran for 366 episodes. Viz Media also acquired the rights to air the ?Bleach? anime on Cartoon Network?s Adult Swim from 2004 to 2012. Bleach?also inspired at least four anime films in the past, had its own video game version, and a series of novels to top it off.
