Game developer Zombie Studios? free to play shooter, Blacklight: Retribution has a nice surprise for their PlayStation Plus members in the near future.
Blacklight: Retribution launched for its Beta late last year, will be exiting the Beta phase on the PlayStation Network tomorrow together with new Trophies. As an added bonus for Beta users, they will get to keep their progress and purchases for the new modes and maps that they saw added to the free to play shooter. More details about those below.
According to producer Kael Hammond, aside from revealing new maps, some cool new streaming capabilities, and a new weapon, there will also be PlayStation Plus Starter Packs.
PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive the Starter Pack in the near future which includes the Revival Injector, the Burstfire SMG, as well as 250 ZCoins to spend on the PlayStation Store for customizations. Simply check out the customization to equip items and you should be all set.
As mentioned earlier, PlayStation Trophies have also arrived and players will be able to start earning them. The current count for Blacklight: Retribution?s Trophies are at 20 and there are plans for more trophies to be added as future patches get rolled out.
As a sneak peek, here are a few trophy favorites:
- Who Needs Friends?:?Earned by completing 20 matches of Deathmatch.
- Toasty:?Earned by killing 10 Hardsuits with a Flamethrower.
- Breadwinner:?Get this one by earning 50,000 GP.
- This Is My Rifle:?Add this to your shelf by fully customizing a primary weapon.
Hammond also reminds Beta players that the Zcoin that was purchased in the Beta period will be refunded as promised and the refund should take place in the coming week or so. Be sure to check out your account by then. Also, stats, progress, earned items, and everything else will be maintained from the Beta on to the full release so Beta players can rest easy from the fear of starting over completely.
In any game, the feedback from players in the Beta phase is very important in improving the game mechanics as well as all possible bugs and exploits. It?s a community effort and Zombie Studios extend their gratitude to the beta players who helped out.
There is no timetable yet for the PlayStation Plus Starter pack but it will be in the near future.
