Various news sources suggests that, the new BlackBerry Tablet is just a modified version of Samsung Galaxy Tab S
BlackBerry is now making a huge comeback after their last attempt with their PlayBook tablet. According to The Verge, the company has just announced their latest tablet and it is far more different from the first one and very similar to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5.
BlackBerry?s SecuTablet is now gaining popularity not because of the specs but because of its high security encryption.
BlackBerry Tablet known as the SecuTablet is not for everyone
The Verge has pointed out that the upcoming tablet won?t be for everyone but instead, it targets people of high status like someone from a large enterprise and/or in the government sector. The SecuTablet, as stated there, will keep your device from prying eyes. It is a secured tablet that you can use to keep your highly confidential documents without the fear of being hacked or infected by malwares?imagine Fort Knox if it turns into a device.
?Security is ingrained in every part of BlackBerry?s portfolio, which includes voice and data encryption solutions,? said Hans-Christoph Quelle, CEO of SecuSmart, the company that was acquired by BlackBerry last year [via Androidbeat]. He also added ?National and international government customers have entrusted their voice and data communications with the Secusmart Security Card for years. This same technology is what secures the new SecuTABLET. Working alongside IBM and Samsung, we have added the last link in the chain of the Federal Security Network.?
BlackBerry Tablet and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 similarities and difference
BlackBerry SecuTablet specs, as revealed on androidbeat:
- Display: Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a screen size of 10.5 inch.
- Processor: Exynos 5420 chip Octa-Core
- RAM: 3GB
- Camera: 8MP for the back and 2MP for the front
Pretty much identical to the specs of Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5, however, the only difference they have is the SecuTablet?s heavily encrypted technology of SecuSmart.
The reason why this is not for everyone?other than the fact that it is like Fort Knox when it comes to its security encryption?is the price. As reported by pcworld, the unmodified version of Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 will retail at around $500 while the SecuTablet from BlackBerry will cost at around $2,380!
Now that is a hefty price!
