By on

BlackBerry Prive, the first BlackBerry phone to come with an Android OS, has officially been confirmed and numerous details about it such specs and price have been recently revealed. Here are the BlackBerry Prive specs and price.

BlackBerry Priv Specs

The first Android OS phone from BB packs a punch on the specs department as it houses a Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB Ram, The Verge reported. It also has 32GB of storage. It will also have a 5.4-inch curved Quad HD display.

Of course, as it is a BlackBerry phone, it will have a slider-keyboard. According to Fortune, the phone will come equipped with an 18-megapixel camera as well as a 3,410 mAh battery. The phone will reportedly be shipped this November 16.

?It has the legacy of BlackBerry?s old beloved hardware, with the keyboard and the slider keyboard,? editor-in-chief of MobileSyrup said via CBC. ?It has all the modern benefits of a high-end Android phone with a big? touch screen, and it has Android as an OS so it has all the apps that BB10 users just didn?t have.?

BlackBerry Priv Price

Do you fancy the specs of the BlackBerry Prive? Well, the reason why BlackBerry didn?t skimp on giving it high-end specs is because the phone costs a lot more than other phones. More expensive than flagship phones of almost all companies. The phone will cost a total of $749 in the US, while those in Canada will have to dole out $949.

Many have found the price to be absurd especially as most flagship phones are way cheaper than the Priv. It will also be tough for BB to get the attention of people especially as they are just trying to rise-up from their downfall as a mobile phone giant, reports said. Here are the price of other phones to put things into perspective according to Fortune:

  • $749: iPhone 6S (64GB)
  • $749: iPhone 6S (16GB)
    $699: Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (32GB)
  • $499: Motorola Moto X Pure Edition (64GB)
