Ahead of Friday?s release of one of the most anticipated movies of this year, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice had its US premiere on Sunday night at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
The New York Premiere by Warner Bros. Pictures saw the cast ensemble of Amy Adams, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot, Holly Hunter and Diane Lane photographed on the red carpet.
According to Daily Mail, both Affleck and Adams brought their fashion A-games to the premiere event of the superhero flick.
Ben, 43, must have channeled his character Bruce Wayne as he looked dapper in a black three-piece suit over a light blue dress shirt and navy tie. Amy, 41, upped the sex appeal at the gathering as she sported a very low-cut black number.
Henry Cavill, who reprises his role as Superman after 2013?s Man of Steel, attempted to outdo Ben with his own three-piece suit in navy blue as he sported a crisp, white dress shirt with burgundy tie and patterned pocket square.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old former Miss Israel, Gal shimmered in a beaded silver and gold number featuring cutouts around the shoulders as she finished off the look with a pair of matching strappy silver stilettos.
Speaking at the event, Affleck said that he hopes to live up to the expectations of the Batman fans who were quite skeptical of him playing the caped crusader in the movie. When the news regarding Affleck playing of Batman came nearly three years ago, many of the fans were upset which also led to an internet backlash with some petitioning the Warner Bros. studio to remove him.
?Before we started all I could think of was Christian Bale and Chris Nolan and George Clooney and Tim Burton and Michael Keaton and Bob Crane and Frank Miller, and all these people who worked on these characters and made them great before,? Affleck said.
He added: ?I?m standing on the shoulders of all these great cast members and I?m really proud of the movie. We did something different with Batman that I really like, it was a take I really wanted to do.?
?It will be a little curveball for the fans so I?m really hoping that they enjoy it because that is ultimately who it is for.?
Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg who plays as villain Lex Luthor went on to defend the evil millionaire on the red carpet, saying: ?The character is the hero of his own story, in a way he is trying to save humanity.?
?He thinks Superman is a threat and it?s his responsibility to stand up for the world.?
Meanwhile, Zack Snyder shared that the new Batman and Superman costumes are more pee-friendly as they had zippers hidden on them for actors to be able to relieve themselves. He added that in the first Man of Steel movie Superman costume didn?t have a zipper so literally Henry had to remove the costume every time in order to go to bathroom.
Actor Will Smith, who will be seen later this year in the supervillain ensemble picture Suicide Squad, also attended the gala. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Harry Lennix and Tao Okamoto were among other cast members supporting the premiere.
Many other Hollywood A-listers attended the event which saw The Walking Dead star Lauren Cohan sporting a black dress, while 10 Cloverfield Lane actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead looked gorgeous in an intricate black and blue number. The night also saw presence of Gotham stars Erin Richards, David Mazouz, Camren Bicondova, Robin Lord Taylor and Sean Pertwee, among many others.
The synopsis of the movie reads: ?Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City?s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis?s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it?s ever known before.?
