?Batman v Superman?: Former Superman Dean Cain Would Take ?Deadpool? Instead Any Day

Dean Cain has been known for a number of roles, with some fans remembering his hosting gig in ?Ripley?s Believe it or Not,? while others are more familiar with his more recent work in ?Supergirl.? However, his most definitive role has arguably been as Superman during the beloved ?Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman? television series, which makes his recent statement quite shocking.

While answering questions at ToyCon 2016, which took place in the Philippines, Cain was asked about his thoughts on ?Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.? He stated that it was too draggy and he even dozed off a few times, due to the slow pace and lack of brevity.

To add more salt to the wound, the former Superman said he took his son to the Deadpool movie and they had a much more fun time with it. This is when he said that he would ?take Deadpool over Batman v Superman any day,? which got a nice ovation from the people in attendance. Cain did praise actors Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck for their performances though.

It?s not like Cain has been the only one to complain about Batman v Superman. The film has gotten a mixed reception, with critics hating it and some audiences loving it. Most people praised the performances of the actors, with most of the acclaim going to Ben Affleck?s portrayal of Batman and Jeremy Irons doing a great job as Alfred.

Deadpool, on the other hand, has been a critical darling, thanks to the movie?s full indulgence to the source material, along with a surprisingly great love story. Though some people might call the film overrated, the fact of the matter remains that it is the highest grossing R-rated movie of all time. Fox immediately greenlit a sequel, which will feature Deadpool?s longtime friend and rival Cable.

Cain expressed interest in doing roles similar to Deadpool, but won?t go as far as to audition as the titular ?Merc with a Mouth.? The actor is quite happy with his legacy as Superman, which a lot of his fans will agree on.
