Batman The Telltale Series Release Date: What You Should Know Before Buying

Batman The Telltale Series

The first episode of Batman The Telltale Series will arrive in digital stores on August 2. Like most games from Telltale, the first episode is available on pretty much every platform imaginable, including the PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Telltale has garnered quite the reputation when it comes to these types of games, so there is plenty of excitement for this new Batman adventure.

One of the first things fan should know is that it will be one of the best-looking games Telltale has ever released. While the developers have always used cel-shaded graphics, it looks perfectly at home in a city like Gotham. The visuals really make the game feel like a comic book, which will probably be its biggest strength.

However, fans expecting an Arkham-like experience will be disappointed, as Batman The Telltale Series will still be a point-and-click adventure game like the previous titles. The game will have players using Bruce Wayne and Batman as they do detective work and solve mysteries like Fables: A Wolf Among Us, another Telltale comic book adaptation.

The game’s story seems to be based on, or at least inspired by, The Long Halloween. Fans get to see Harvey Dent before he became Two Face, the Falcone crime family and Catwoman, all of whom were fairly important in The Long Halloween. The game’s story seems to be more grounded than the Arkham titles, so fans shouldn’t expect too many supervillains to appear.

This is the best looking Telltale game yet.

While it isn’t an Arkham game, it does seem like we will see some action in this Telltale tile. The trailer shows Batman stopping a bank robbery, and it will be interesting to see how the player will have to handle such situation. Previous games by Telltale handled action sequences with quick-time events, so this is the likely solution.

Batman The Telltale Series arrives on August 2 for almost every digital game store out there. The season pass disc will be available on September, granting players access to all future episodes when they become available. The future episodes currently have no release date, though fans should find out sooner or later.
