When WB Games ended their E3 2017 stream a while ago fans were disappointed, since they didn’t see Batman Arkham Insurgency. The game has been heavily rumored for quite some time, with many hoping E3 was where it would be revealed. Alas, the game did not appear, and fans have to start wondering if the title is real to begin with.
Rumors stated that Arkham Insurgency would be a sequel to Arkham Origins, detailing Batman’s relationship with the first Robin. Most fans know that he became Nightwing, so it would have been nice to see this relationship blossom. Only time will tell if we see the game in another event, so fans shouldn’t keep their hopes up.
If Batman Arkham Insurgency is real, there’s a good chance that WB Games are just prepping it up for good. Most fans will remember how broken Arkham Knight was/is for PC, so this is a good decision. E3 2017 might be the biggest game show, but there are still other events it could appear in, like Gamescom.
WB Games is also fairly busy with Middle Earth: Shadow of War, the sequel to the excellent Shadow of Mordor. This was the last game shown on the WB panel, and many thought it was a good showing. Shadow of War looks bigger and better than the first game, with an expanded nemesis system and more open levels.
Making The Bat Wait
Batman Arkham Insurgency may or may not be real, and its absence at E3 might make it in the latter. Still, the fact that so many sites reported on the rumor shows that there is hope and interest in another Arkham game. Many say they’re the best superhero games ever made, and it’s very hard to disagree with that fact.
Batman Arkham Knight is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC, though no one should touch the latter. Fans that miss the older games can get the Return to Arkham remaster on PS4 and Xbox One.
