Backstreet Boys Singing With Meghan Trainor Will Give You the ?90s Feels

By on

Backstreet Boys performed a nostalgic version of their 1999 hit song ?I Want It That Way? with pop sensation Meghan Trainor on the Thursday episode of Greatest Hits, the new musical show of ABC Television Network.

Meghan Trainor matched the members of the American boy band by wearing the same white-and-black ensemble. A.J. Mclean, Howie D., Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, and Nick Carter took turns serenading the ?All That Bass? singer.

The duet was a dream-come-true for Meghan, even though she felt a bit nervous. Prior to their performance, Meghan admitted that the Backstreet Boys was the first boy group that she idolized when she was growing up.

?My first band that I loved was the Backstreet Boys,? she said during a pre-performance interview. ?My pop star crush was Brian [Littrell]. I was gonna marry him and my mom was gonna marry him. That was our husband.?

Meghan Trainor, who rose to fame with such hits as ?Lips Are Movin? and ?Like I?m Gonna Lose You,? later on shared one funny memory. ?The day he [Brian] got married, I remember we were like, ?Nooo!??

It was 2000 when Brian Littrell married former model and actress Leighanne Wallace, whom he met during the shoot for the music video of their song ?As Long As You Love ?Me.? They have a son named Baylee Thomas Wylee Littrell.

There were times during the number when Meghan could barely keep her excitement at bay. Nevertheless, she was able to pull off an amazing performance.

Meghan Trainor, whose musical background is influenced by jazz, doo wop, and ?50s music, proved that she could keep it together even if she?s in front of her childhood crushes.

?Singing with the Backstreet Boys is definitely a bucket-list moment,? she admitted.

Way to go, Meghan!

This is not the first time the Backstreet Boys reunited to perform their big hits in front of a large audience. On June 5, 2016, they performed two of their signature songs ?As Long As You Love Me? and ?I Want It That Way? at the coronation night of Miss USA 2016 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
