BSB fans rejoice! The Backstreet Boys are currently recording their 9th album as of press time. And it looks like Nick Carter?s first born son, Odin, is the first to hear it. Carter recently posted an endearing Instagram photo of him holding baby Odin while at the studio.
It seems Carter is the bearer of good news, when he also revealed via Instagram last week that he and his bandmates, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson were ?listening to songs in Nashville for the next @backstreetboys record.?
Last October, Backstreet Boys member, AJ McLean revealed in an interview with Rollingstone that the group was working on their 9th album. They had started working with a new producer, Jay Cash, who wrote ?Sugar? for Maroon 5. At the time, McLean predicted that the new album would be released before their cruise in May, but that didn?t happen. Never mind that, what?s important is that right this moment, they are in a studio recording an album. There?s no backing out now.
Nine-show Vegas Test
Aside from that, the boys [actually men now], signed a deal with Live Nation for a nine-show test residency in Las Vegas. According to Carter?s interview with ET Online, they are aiming for a long-term residency similar to what Britney Spears and J.Lo have. The residency would start in January 2017.
A few months ago, Carter brought back some of the boys from the other boybands for a TV movie on Syfy called Dead 7. The futuristic zombie Western brought back ?90s and early millennium boy-band stars from N?Sync, 98 Degrees, O-Town and of course, Backstreet Boys, that you would think somewhere in the film a dance off reminiscent of ?Everybody? would emerge. No, it didn?t happen, but it would be better if the boys stick to music instead.
While the rumored comeback concert of the Spice Girls may not be pushing through, due to a member who?s fighting to stop Baby Spice, Scary Spice and Ginger Spice from going back on stage as Spice Girls [read: Mel C], Backstreet?s definitely back (alright!).
