It?s Back to The Future Day alright, so in honor of this classic sci-fi flick, we picked out 5 best Time Travel movies that can further excite your love for this favorite plot.
October 21, 2015 is one of the important dates in geek culture, because that is the day when Marty McFly and Doc Brown travelled into the future in Back to The Future II. And it is also the best day to celebrate the awesome trilogy by picking some of the best movies about time traveling, so here are our 5 best time travel movies.
Bill & Ted?s Excellent Adventure (1989)
Before he became Neo or John Wick, Keanu Reeves plays as Theodore ?Ted? Logan and along with his best friend Bill (Alex Winter), they travelled the Western Civilization with the use of their time-travelling phone booth as they kidnap historical figures and use them to pass on their History exams. It was a sweet mix of pop culture and history where kids and adults in the late 80?s will relate.
Here we see Bruce Willis goes back in time to meet his younger self and tries to eliminate a child who will bring havoc in his future. This is one thrilling time travel movie you should not skip in your timeline, it shows the dramatic scenes in the film on how changing history will not actually change the future, but rather it will repeat in an endless loop.
Groundhog Day (1993)
Bill Murray plays as reporter Phil Connors who is rather a rude and unhappy man, who after covering a news of groundhog celebration in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, he wakes up to relive the same day once again. Though it has no long explanation about the Groundhog Day experience, but managed to provide a well entertaining film as Bill Murray made his best performance.
Terminator: Judgment Day (1991)
Some say the sequel usually surpasses the first film in terms of quality. Terminator Judgment Day proves it. This franchise marked the start of the typical time travelling plot; someone from the future will visit the past of a very important person and tries to protect him or her from bad guys from the future. So far the second film managed to land an impressive feel about time travel and a great performance from Arnold Schwarzenegger which made him a household name in movies.
Back to the Future (1985)
And of course time travelling movies would not become a trend if it wasn?t for Back to the Future. Instead of doing an action flick about time travelling, what we get is a comedy adventure about Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) with a lesson where a single mistake can make a huge impact in the future. With a brilliant storytelling and a great cast, it?s no wonder everyone will mention Back to the Future if they have to name a time travel movie.
