The number of ladies vying for Zac Franich’s heart has gotten much smaller with a bachelorette’s voluntary exit recently. With only 4 ladies remaining, we’re getting closer to knowing who The Bachelor New Zealand 2017 winner would be. We probably all have our bets now but we shouldn’t get too excited yet because there could be a big twist in the mix.
Let’s backtrack a little bit before we start getting into that surprise decision. Over the weekend, we’ve seen this season’s very first voluntary departure from Sarah, the remaining intruder in the show. We can recall she made the call to leave after doubting her choice to join the reality romance show. The 28-year-old bachelorette also admitted she was “struggling” with her feelings for our beloved Zac.
“I’m struggling here; I’m struggling with opening up. I admire the way you’re able to open up yourself and I can see you’re genuine and 100 percent into this and putting yourself out there,” she told the bachelor in a tense one-on-one. “I’m not able to do the same. I’ve tried, I really have, but I would have thought by this point I’d be able to open up a lot more to you.”

Zac and the girls were taken aback by her decision, but it wasn’t all bad news to her fellow contestants Viarni, Hannah, Lily, and Claudia. With her gone, their chances of winning have gotten a bit higher.
A Big Bachelor New Zealand 2017 Winner Twist?
Viarni, of course, remains the frontrunner, having received her fifth rose from Zac last episode. Claudia got her second one from the sportsman too. Although Lily and Hannah failed to get a rose previously, they have their own competitive edge as well.
Lily may haven’t been a scene stealer but she has quickly become a favorite of Zac’s as the show progressed, thanks to her quirky humor and hilarious tricks. Hannah, on the other hand, has also had a fair share of moments with the bachelor. Plus there’s a rumor she could be on the final two alongside Viarni since they’re the only ones whom Zac hasn’t been following on Instagram.
That’s 2 points for Viarni now. But will she really be the Bachelor New Zealand 2017 winner?
While the odds are in her favor, this is a “reality” show we’re talking about. There might have been predictable seasons but the franchise isn’t a stranger to shocking finales as well so there’s a possibility that we’ll get someone who is a total shocker in the end.
After all, Zac did admit that he has developed deep feelings with some of the girls as he got to know them more on the show. For all we know, the tables may turn in the few episodes left. We’ll have to wait and see.
The Bachelor NZ airs Sundays and Mondays at 7:30 p.m. on Three.
