The Bachelor Australia 2016 winner will be one lucky girl for sure. But if it’s going to be Alex Nation, are there going to be no trash talk from her exes and their camps? Just recently, Nation has slammed rumors surrounding the alleged bitter end to her relationship with her first true love, Tom Barbour.
Barbour is in a wheelchair because of a spinal injury he incurred after falling from a construction site nine meters high. He and Alex were together for 15 months. Then they broke up in September last year. Reports from a magazine claims that Barbour escaped Australia. It said seeing Nation with another man is simply too painful for him.
Nation was divorced to the father of her five-year-old son Elijah. After that, she met Barbour and tells the media he’s the first guy she really “ever loved.” But this is a big contradiction to the alleged claims of New Idea. Friends and family of Barbour said he was shocked by their breakup. Even more unbelievable was learning about Nation’s desire to join The Bachelor. The show was too much for him so he decided to leave the country and just stay overseas.
The source told the mag, “He had so many unanswered questions from Alex it was making him crazy because he knew she had moved on, so he decided to do the same.” But Alex was quick to deny the claims, saying the story was totally made up.
Nation’s rep issued a statement saying, “The claims made by an ‘insider’ in New Idea on Monday, September 12 regarding Alex Nation and her past relationship with Tom Barbour are defamatory, completely false and misleading. Alex and Tom’s relationship ended amicably in September 2015, with both parties agreeing it is best for them to part ways. Claims suggesting anything else are incredibly hurtful to both Alex and Tom, who remain on good terms. Tom is now overseas on a scholarship to study, and not overseas to escape Alex as suggested by New Idea.”
Barbour, on the other hand, is far from the sad and depressed ex the mag suggests he is. One look at his Instagram posts and you see nothing but a happy and secure person. When he set out to go overseas seven weeks ago, he was joined by his family and friends. Even Nation attended the event!
So Barbour’s happy, Nation’s happy, everyone’s happy! Let’s just hope that if she indeed wins, it will workout for her and her bachelor, making him her second and last one true love.
