Recently, voice actor Elias Toufexis posted an image of him posing in a motion capture suit. Potentially, Toufexis might be doing work with for Marvel’s Avengers Project, a game being developed by Square Enix’s Crystal Dynamics in collaboration with Eidos Montreal. Previously, Toufexis is known for his work with Eidos in providing the voice for the Deus Ex main character, Adam Jensen.

Suit Up

On Toufexis’ Instagram post, he can be seen kneeling and holding some sort of metal tool. Potentially, this might just be Toufexis showing off some of his work or trying to tease fans for his current project. His pose looks an awful lot like Wolverine simply because he holds the metal tool like a claw.

Toufexis and Eidos

So far, Elias Toufexis’ known role in the video game industry as Adam Jensen in the Deus Ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided entries. He provides the main character’s gruff voice as Adam speaks according to the player’s choice. Currently, Square Enix is tasked to make The Avengers Project game despite Mankind Divided ending on a cliffhanger ending. Potentially, Squar Enix could be cooking up The Avengers Project with Toufexis voicing one of the characters or Toufexis doing work for the next Deus Ex game.

Good Fit for Wolverine

Basing from Toufexis’ role as Jensen, he seems to be a good fit for a Wolverine role in the upcoming Avengers Project game. Although Wolverine hasn’t been seen in working with main Avengers team in the recent Marvel movies, he has done so in the comics and other Marvel spin-off games featuring The Avengers. Eidos Montreal would want to have Toufexis in the Marvel-Square Enix project since he has already left a lasting impression in the Deus Ex series with his voice work as Jensen. The developers may want to have his recognizable voice in their games.

In the Deus Ex series, Jensen is recognizable for his low, slightly growling voice that’s perfect for dark, mysterious type characters. Toufexis’ voice works perfectly as Wolverine because most of his voice work have a feral tone. Potentially, Toufexis’ role as Wolverine can help him grow out of being typecasted as Jensen.

At around 7:00 of 3killabytes’ video, Toufexis himself confirms that he has struggled getting voice work jobs after being casted as Jensen, though. “I’ve actually lost jobs because Adam Jensen became so popular,” Toufexis said.

Marvel and Square Enix’s Avengers Project

Only few information are known about the upcoming Avengers Project from Marvel, Square Enix, and Eidos Montreal. As of their reveal last January, we only know that Marvel and Square Enix are partnering up to make this game with Eidos Montreal. However, its overall gameplay and playable roster is still unknown as of the moment.

Toufexis’ potential Wolverine tease may confirm this mutant as one of the playable characters in Eidos Montreal’s game. Fans are still waiting for the next major update about this game to know The Avengers Project even more.

Other Marvel Games

Kotaku’s Jason Schreier also reported that Eidos Montreal is working on another Marvel game other than The Avengers project. Toufexis might be working on that instead of The Avengers Project if it won’t have him onboard. On the other hand, Marvel is also working with Capcom to make the upcoming Marvel vs Capcom Infinite fighting game. Motion capture work for Wolverine’s moves in the Marvel vs Capcom series is unlikely, but Toufexis can go do Wolverine’s voice for that game instead.

For now, all fans can do is wait for more Marvel, Square Enix, and Eidos Montreal’s announcements about this project. As seen on its official trailer description, Marvel assures that there will be information about the game on 2018. Stay updated with more gaming news and updates here on The BitBag.
