Recent interview with Elizabeth Olsen suggests that her character is more of a dancer than a fighter in Avengers: Age of Ultron
Back in the first Avengers movie, all superheroes there fought the invading Chitauris in a more physical manner?like punching, kicking, shooting and other action movie fighting style. However, recent news suggests that, in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Scarlett Witch is not going to do those action movie stunts when fighting the Avengers and other villains in that film. Instead of using her fists, she will use her dancing skills to take down the enemies!
Scarlett Witch is going to show us her ?killer? dance moves in Avengers: Age of Ultron
Comicbook has recently reported that Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch in the upcoming Marvel movie Avengers: Age of Ultron) is going to be more of a dancer than a fighter.
In her most recent interview with Empire Magazine, according to comicbook, she said that ?The coolest thing about Scarlet Witch is, because you’ve never seen her, we got to create how she moves,? Olsen also revealed during that interview, ?Joss was really inspired by dancers, and so he knew that he wanted to change visually how she moves, to be more like a dancer than a fighter. I didn’t really have to do much stunt training. Instead I trained with a dancer, Jenny White, which was its own kind of soreness, but it wasn’t what I thought it would be.?
That was quite unexpected and I honestly can?t imagine here doing that, casting her spells and/or evading attacks while dancing? This is something I got to see.
Elizabeth Olsen talks about Scarlett Witch?s power in Avengers: Age of Ultron
It was also revealed during that interview that Scarlett Witch?s powers are not yet fully matured during this whole Ultron event. ?We are still discovering the things we can and cannot do. The extent of her powers isn’t fully explored in Ultron. But she can manipulate objects. And she has visions, and she has the ability to share them.? She told Empire Magazine.
Now in the comics, according to her wiki page, her powers are:
- Reality warping – where she can alter the reality that we know of and change it to whatever she wants.
- Probability Manipulation – where she has perfect control over chance or luck
- And Chaos Magic.
Based on what she said during her interview, looks like her reality warping ability is still not a threat?yet?but hopefully we will get to see it in the next Avengers movie after Ultron entitled Avengers: Infinity War Part 1, that is if she is still part of the cast.
Since her powers in the comics are tied to the Marvel Universe that includes the X-men, it’s important to note that her abilities have been greatly altered for Age of Ultron thanks to the character rights.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to premiere on cinemas May 1, 2015.
