Taiwanese electronics major Asus has a smartphone or two planned for the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 in Las Vegas. The company is set to host its Zennovation press conference on Wednesday, January 4.
The company lately teased at least one smartphone will be powered by the ?world?s best processor.? Asus possibly hinted at a device featuring Qualcomm?s new Snapdragon 835, according to PhoneArena. Qualcomm?s newest flagship SoC built on 10nm FinFet process is smaller, and yet more powerful and energy efficient than SD 820.

Though details of the upcoming Snapdragon 835 smartphone is?unknown at this point, an Asus X00GD device was spotted at a Chinese certification website, TENAA.
As per the TENNA listing, the device sports a ?5.2-inch HD display and is powered by an SoC with octa-core 1.5GHz processor. The phone is expected to have RAM/in-built storage options of ?2GB/16GB, 3GB/32GB, and 4GB/64GB. There is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.
The Asus smartphone is listed with a 13-megapixel rear camera, coupled with a dual-tone flash and an 8MP front shooter. It packs in a large 4,850mAh battery and also has a home button-embedded fingerprint sensor. The device measuring 149.5×73.7×8.85mm and weighing 169.5 grams, is tipped to run Android 7.0 out of the box. Color options include Luxury Gold, Black, and Rose Gold.
Another device tipped to headline Asus? CES 2017 event is the Asus Zenfone AR. Hardware partner Qualcomm leaked the details of the same on its blog. The device, however, is tipped to feature the Snapdragon 821 processor.
Qualcomm?s Snapdragon Blog disclosed that Asus ZenFone AR, is another Google Tango phone following in the footsteps of the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro. The post further added the device is Daydream ready as well as making the?first smartphone of its kind.
?With Zenfone AR and the Daydream View headset and controller, you?ll be able to explore new worlds with apps like Google Street View and Fantastic Beasts, dive into your personal VR cinema with YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and HBO, and get your game on with Gunjack 2, LEGO BrickHeadz, Need for Speed and dozens other titles,? the blog post reads.
Following the Qualcomm leak, famous tipster, Evan Blass (@evleaks) posted renders for the upcoming Asus Zenfone AR. The device looks like a typical ZenFone while the rear is seen with a sophisticated dual camera setup.
