Throughout the Assassin?s Creed series, we have seen all sorts of weapons ranging from concealed kunais to hack and slash scimitars all the way to English pistols. But perhaps the all-time favorite weapon of an assassin in his arsenal is none other than the hidden blade. This time, the concept artists over at Ubisoft have reinvented the idea and transformed it to a deadly projectile-shooting weapon: the Phantom Blade.

The Phantom Blade, which will make its debut in the upcoming Assassin?s Creed Unity, is a mechanical mini-crossbow strapped to an armband and it has several transformations. It?s supposed to be concealed and the projectile it shoots is the assassin?s weapon of choice?the hidden blade.

?Our philosophy is not simply to add gadgets, but to develop a feature linked to one of the core brand pillars,? Alex Pedneault, Lead Game Designer of Assassin?s Creed, explains. ?With Assassin?s Creed Unity, the Phantom Blade is a new feature that affects two core brand pillars: stealth and combat.?

Take a good look at its concept art.

The weapon looks so cool that Ubisoft even decided to bring it to real life. They partnered with toy manufacturing company McFarlane Toys to create an accurate depiction of the in-game weapon itself. And it looks nasty sick.

Okay, we lied. That?s not a toy. It actually DOES shoot. But don?t worry, the blade is not real. They actually wanted to make the model as real as possible so they decided to make a functioning projectile.

The real-life Phantom Blade will be available in the holiday season for $59.99 and it also comes with a code to unlock the exclusive French Cavalry Pistol. If you want to pre-order one and live your fantasies, visit this page.

Ubisoft?s upcoming Assassin?s Creed Unity is scheduled for release on October 28 on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
