Ubisoft skipped 2016 when it came to the Assassin’s Creed games but it looks like the developer has finally readied it’s 2017 entry in the franchise. New details about the next Assassin’s Creed game has spread like wildfire throughout the internet. From the looks of it, Assassin’s Creed Origins is the real deal and it could be revealed soon.

Recently, a leaked image of the alleged next Assassin’s Creed game spread online. Many fans didn’t believe the leaked image despite it looking pretty authentic but now, a few sources from Eurogamer said that the image is legit and the next game is indeed titled Assassin’s Creed Origins. Here’s everything we know so far about the next main entry.

Setting And Premise

From the name itself, it’s pretty obvious that Assassin’s Creed Origins is going to be a prequel to the previous games. Like what EA DICE did by going back to WW1 for Battlefield 1, Ubisoft is also looking to go back to the past in the next entry and it could be a success as the setting alone is interesting enough already.

Before the leak, the rumored title for the next Assassin’s Creed game was Assassin’s Creed Empires and it was reportedly set in Egypt. While the next game isn’t titled Assassin’s Creed Empires, it looks like it’ll still be set in Ancient Egypt.

Looking closely at the leaked image, it reveals that the current mission for the assassin is titled as Assassinate the Crocodile and it tasks players to follow Shadya to Khenut’s Villa. Eurogamer reports that Khenut was an Egyptian Queen and wife of King Ulnas during the fifth dynasty of Ancient Egypt.  If the game is indeed a prequel for the franchise, then it’s likely that we’ll be seeing how the Assassin Order is formed.

Back To The Waters

The image reveals that the main character is atop a boat.  One of the best features of Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag was the ability to customise the Jackdaw. Hopefully, Ubisoft brings back the same customization feature in the next Assassin’s Creed game.

It’s very likely that we’ll be seeing the next game soon. E3 2017 is just around the corner and the leak feels like it comes just in time for the biggest event in gaming.
