The hit video game was already given the green light for the movie adaptation, now here?s the first look of the actual costume for Assassin?s Creed.
Unfortunately, Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past), is not playing as Altair, Ezio Auditore da Firenze or even Desmond Miles. He will be playing a whole new character named Callum Lynch for the Assassin?s Creed movie.
Yahoo! has gotten the exclusive photo of the costume and we also learned from there that the game still takes place in the same Assassin?s Creed game world and Fassbender?s character and the movie does not recreate any from the existing Assassin?s Creed games but rather introducing a whole new character to the existing Assassin?s Creed world.
We also managed to get a short synopsis of the movie from Yahoo!:
Lynch discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. After gaining incredible knowledge and skills he?s poised to take on the oppressive Knights Templar in the present day.
Assassin?s Creed is a popular video game released by Ubisoft in 2007, it became a phenomenal hit to the gamers due to its unique take on stealth/action gameplay and deep lore. With the success of the first game, Ubisoft has released more games for the franchise over the next eight years, now with fifteen games with their latest; Assassin?s Creed Syndicate is slated this October. Assassin?s Creed also has been available to other media such as novels, comics and animated shorts.
The Assassin?s Creed movie will also star Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises), Michael Kenneth Williams (12 Years a Slave), and Ariane Labed (Before Midnight) and filming will start next week with shooting locations planned in London, Malta and Spain.
