July has been shaped to be a great month for Assassin?s Creed fans. Assassin?s Creed Unity made some serious noise by bringing us a great look at the Revolution era in France. Showing a small, but great looking footage of the gameplay of an Assassin doing the deed on the next-gen Paris. However, Ubisoft is not only putting all of its focus on a single Assassin?s Creed game. There?s also Assassin?s Creed Comet to look out for, which is to be released on last-gen consoles.
Still, there?s another Assassin?s Creed game in the works, but it is much different from the usual free-running open-world feel of the original franchise. Much like the Assassin?s Creed Pirates on the mobile. This upcoming title is called Assassin?s Creed Memories.
It is a game about strategic card battling. A free to play iOS game that will mix card trading, battling, strategy and even RPG elements. Ubisoft will be working with mobile games experts, PlayNext and social gaming studio GREE. It is not the first time that Ubisoft will be working with GREE however, as they?ve collaborated with Assassin?s Creed Utopia, which ended up being cancelled.
Managing Director of Ubisoft Mobile Division, Jean Michael Detoc explained this new approach:
|?The card battle genre has been hugely popular around the world and GREE and PlayNext have demonstrated their know-how and expertise on such games? With such expertise, we really believe they?re bringing a great new way to enjoy the richness of the Assassin?s Creed universe to mobile players.?|
The players would be able to explore varieties of worlds and eras from the Assassin?s Creed series, with the addition of new ones.
With gameplay, there will be a ?deep and engaging? single player experience for gamers who prefer solitude, but the multiplayer will also play a large chunk in the overall experience that Assassin?s Creed Memories will provide players like 20 versus 20 pvps.
Assassin?s Creed Memories is scheduled for release on iOS devices worldwide this summer.
