The Assassin’s Creed?game is not getting the priority treatment this year. This is what Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot implied in his interview with gamespot. When asked whether the Assassin?s Creed game will arrive in 2017, he answered with a non-committal ?Yeah. It will be when it?s ready…It will be back when it?s ready. That?s when we feel we have something there.?

He further revealed that Assassin’s Creed?has so much potential, the whole team wants to take the time planning the next experience. The timing couldn?t be more perfect as the company is also working on other projects at this time.

Ubisoft Statement:

?There?s a huge potential in this game to revolutionise the IP, so we said, ?Let?s make sure we change our model so we have more time and that we can bring back a greater experience.?? he added. Launched in 2007, the Assassin?s Creed game has released several spin offs and smaller sub games. Assassin?s Creed Syndicate is the last in the series. In February this year, Ubisoft went ahead to announce there won?t be any Assassin?s Creed game this 2016.

When asked whether 2017 is a viable year, Guillemot was non-committal, prompting players to conclude it won?t happen until 2018. The Ubisoft CEO made the announcement saying ?This year, we are also stepping back and re-examining the Assassin?s Creed franchise. As a result, we?ve decided that there will not be a new Assassin?s Creed game in 2016. Since the release of Assassin’s Creed?Unity, we?ve learned a lot based on your feedback. We?ve also updated our development processes and recommitted to making Assassin?s Creed a premier open-world franchise. We?re taking this year to evolve the game mechanics and to make sure we?re delivering on the promise of Assassin?s Creed offering unique and memorable gameplay experiences that make history everyone?s playground.?

Interestingly, the CEO did not totally put off the idea of the next Assassin?s Creed. In fact, he even revealed that the next one will have a better storyline, more content and amazingly, a prequel to all of the Assassin’s Creed?game.
