Another week, another elimination. Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 whittled down the number of contenders again and this time, Malaysia lost one of its bets, Alicia Amin. With 9 ladies left, the race is just about to get tougher. But no matter how keen all of them are on bagging the top spot, there can only be one winner.  So, who will this season’s lucky lady be? Here’s our Asia’s Next Top Model 2017 winner predictions.

Maureen Wroblewitz

While there’s no denying that she is gorgeous, some viewers think Maureen doesn’t have much to offer beyond that. Sunstar describes her as the girl who has the face but “is always clueless during shoots,” making her a “liability.” However, she has proven since the first episode that there’s more to her than meets the eye.

Maureen has since been a frontrunner. She ranked third and fifth on Episode 1 and 2, respectively. We’ve seen her ranking drop on the third one when she landed the bottom two alongside fellow Philippine bet, Jennica, who was sent home that time. But she managed to catch up on the next challenges.  We can recall she almost won the Urban Chic photo shoot, falling behind Tu, and finally bagged her first victory in the Maybelline it-girls challenge with a score of 45.3.

Minh Tu Nguyen

Unlike Maureen, Tu did not start strong in the race. In the first three episodes, many saw her simply as “the sick girl who faints during shoots and challenges.” But just like the rest of the girls, she got her eyes on the prize and she is slowly proving how much she wants to become Asia’s Next Top Model. The 24-year-old from Vietnam ultimately made it second in Episode 3 and has since become one of the tigers in the contest.

She won the fourth challenge, earning a whopping 45.0 from the judges. Although Maureen and Dorothy outshined her most recently, she still made it to the third spot in the Maybelline It-girl photo shoot.

Dorothy Petzold

Although her scores aren’t as good as Tu and Maureen, Dorothy’s attitude is on point for the title Asia’s Next Top Model. The same publication describes her as a fighter “who knows who to beat and just how to own the spotlight.” As her bio says, “her determination to win is no joke.”

The thing, though, is that she’s from Thailand. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just that the last winner also came from the same country so the pressure is there. We haven’t seen a back-to-back win in the show yet but Thailand already won the competition twice: the first and the fourth cycle.

Will Dorothy make a new record? We’d be glad if she does, although it would also be nice to see the Philippines, Vietnam, or Singapore win the competition for the first time. As usual, we’ll have to wait and see. There are 8 episodes and 9 ladies left in the cycle: Cindy, Clara, Dorothy, Maureen, Tu, Nametha, Shikin, Valerie, and Veronika. For all we know, the tables may turn in the coming episodes.

There are no details available about the next photo shoot and guest stars at this point. We will let you know here at The Bitbag, though, once we receive new information. In the meantime, stay tuned and don’t miss Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 6 next Wednesday, May 10. For those who missed the last one, catch the Episode 5 repeat this Sunday, May 7.
