Apple could surprise its fans with Apple Watch 2 in September. The tech giant could release next-gen Apple Watch along with iPhone 7 and MacBook Pro 2016.
It is reported that the company is running out of the current wearable. Most of Apple Watch models are out of stock. Out of the 21 variants to choose from, the stainless steel models with Marine Blue Classic Buckle and White leather Loop are currently the only ones available. The rest are either out of stock or backordered.
According to 9To5Mac, smaller variants of stainless steel model are available while 42mm variants are backordered. None of the Milanese and Link Bracelet options are available at the moment. Similarly, most of the large sized Herm?s variants are out of stock. However, the availability depends on the location but, most of Apple stores are running out of wearable.
Apple could have stopped the production of current watch and is shifting its focus on Apple Watch 2. The company could be thinking to clear the inventories of current watch before the launch of the latest wearable. The company could have already started the production of Apple Watch 2.
In the last month, an insider from the Chinese production unit tipped Digitimes that Apple has raised the demand for chips and other components of Apple Watch 2. The source even explained the rate at which Apple could release the next-gen Apple Watch.
?Orders for the upcoming Apple Watch have been higher-than-expected,? the source told DigiTimes. ?Judging from the orders, the sources estimated that about two million units of the new Apple Watch could be shipped monthly.?
Meanwhile, there are lots of rumors about the specs of Apple Watch 2. The new Watch is supposed to bring GPS connectivity and a new wireless chipset. The new wireless chipset in Apple Watch 2 will use Wi-Fi router triangulation technology to find stolen or lost watch.
Recently, renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expressed his views on Apple Watch 2. According to Kuo, the wearable will be powered by a TSMC-built processor. The new processor will boost the performance and will improve the battery life as well. Apple Watch 2 could feature a front facing camera with Facetime support.
The upcoming Apple Watch 2 will cost around $270 for the base model and the high-end model will cost $400 approximately. Apple could launch special editions as well that will be much more expensive.
