Apple To Present Best iProducts in 2014 with OSX 10.1, iOS 8, and Beats Integration, But Sees Delays With Apple TV. Cue Says Steve Jobs Will Be Very Proud of Product Line-up of Apple.
Apple will be showcasing its best product line in twenty five years in the coming months of 2014, says Eddy Cue, head of of Apple’s iTunes. He also mentioned that Apple founder Steve Jobs would be ?extremely proud of the products we’re building.?
In the recent Recode Code Conference, Eddy Cue joined Tim Cook, current CEO of Apple Inc. (AAPL), in proclaiming new and exciting products for Apple fans in the coming months.
Cue, who overseas iTunes as Apple’s Senior VP of Internet Software and Services, was speaking at the Recode Code Conference that was recently held in California (Palos Verdes).
Cue told the conference attendees that for 2014, Apple will showcase ?the best product pipeline I’ve seen in 25 years.?
Cue added that ?the reason we’ve been successful is because we’re completely focused on the products we’re building. We’re not focused on building 100 things….We want to do a few great things.?
To show his confidence in the current Apple lineup, he did not hesitate to invoke the name of the iconic Apple founder Steve Jobs, when he said that Jobs ?would be extremely proud of the products we’re building.?
Apple is scheduled to host their Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco, California, in the coming days and they are expected to present new software services and features. Reports say that Apple will not be showing off any new hardware during this event.
The new software features and services that are expected to be presented would be home-automation services and mobile payment technology. Most developers are, however, eager to hear more, about the upcoming OSX 10.1 and the iOS8.
The introduction of new hardware (iPhone 6? , iPhablet?)is expected to come much later in the year and although Cue did not give away anything during his talk, he did hint about the role ?Beats? will play in Apple’s music streaming service.
Apple recently acquired ?Beats? from Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, and although many doubted the wisdom of the purchase, many analysts have realized what this acquisition can do for the Apple business. One skeptic even called the US$ 3.2 billion dollar deal as Apple’s ?only smart move within the last 3 years!?
Cue added that ?We have a lot of customers, and we know what they listen to…We have a lot of customers who have an easy way to pay. We have a great relationship with artists. … We think all of those things, when you put them all together, it’s [Beats] on steroids. It’s going to bring great opportunities for artists and great music for customers.?
Many are also eagerly waiting for improvements and developments in the video streaming service Apple TV. Apple has given some bits of information in the past, but there is no indication that a new product or service feature will be showcased this 2014.
Cue explained that ?TV is a hard problem to solve…One of the problems you have with a TV is you have a disparate system with a bunch of providers. There’s no standards. There’s a lot of rights issues.?
Despite the difficulties in Apple TV, Apple is reported to continue work on the Apple TV box. Cue adds that ?Apple TV is going to continue to evolve…It gives a great experience, and we’re going to keep improving it.”
