Apple preparing new iPad Pro for WWDC 2017 event

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference is set to kick off on Monday, June 5, at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, CA. Rumor has it that this will be the first Apple WWDC event since 2013 that will showcase hardware products from the company. That said, the Cupertino giant is now being rumored to be preparing the upcoming iPad Pro for the said event.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple is set to launch a new model for the iPad Pro. This new model, a 10.5-inch version, has been in the news for more than six months now. Reports suggest that the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro will be marketed just above the recently released iPad in terms of pricing. However, this will be, perhaps, the first iPad Pro to ditch the physical home button in lieu of an in-display Touch ID sensor.

This very same sensor will be used by the iPhone 8. Furthermore, this new Touch ID sensor design will enable the new iPad Pro to maximize the display area of the device.

In earlier, reports, it is said that the new tablet will retain the same form factor as the original 9.7-inch model. To do this, Apple opted for a micro-bezel design for the new tablet. The result will have a marginally taller and slightly wider design build than the 9.7-inch model.

Another rumored launch during the WWDC 2017 event is the updated version of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

It is not certain yet whether the new version of the old tablet will include major design changes. However, majority of reports suggest that it will only feature internal improvements such as the ARM processor. Speculations are rife that only the 10.5-inch model will feature a new overall design build.

These rumors are not entirely baseless. There have been numerous leaks showing various iPad Pro cases that are entirely different from the ones that are available now. Furthermore, a new regulatory filing was uncovered a few days showing four SKUs: two Wi-Fi, and two LTE versions. However, whether or not these belong to the 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch versions remain to be seen. For more updates on the iPad Pro, be sure to check us out at The Bitbag.
