Apple is expected to make a big splash in the tech world in the second half of this year. The Cupertino-based tech giant is rumored to be releasing its next generation iPhone 7 as early as this September, which has gotten countless fans excited. Earlier, there were rumors that Apple will surprise everyone and release a third version of their upcoming iPhone, which was dubbed the iPhone 7 Pro. Now it appears that the company has abandoned that plan, according to new rumors.

The iPad received a new ?Pro? edition earlier this year when Apple released a new 9.7-inch iPad Pro. The new tablet featured excellent new additions such as more speaker grills and Smart connectivity. The iPhone was rumored to be getting the ?Pro? treatment later this year as well. Now news has surfaced that Apple is not going to be releasing the iPhone 7 Pro after all.

According to TheNextWeb, the iPhone 7 Pro is ?dead? and will not be releasing this year. This is certainly a disappointment to some who were looking forward to the new device. While not much is known about the iPhone 7 Pro, it is said to be an improved version of the iPhone 7 Plus. It is expected to be the same size as the iPhone 7 Plus but with added features to it.

The same report mentions that it appears the iPhone 7 Pro name may just replace the traditional ?Plus? branding which has been used in the past. That means that there will be no third iPhone as many expected, just the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus or iPhone 7 Pro, depending on which branding Apple goes with.

Still, Apple fans have to be excited about the new iPhone 7 which is only a couple of weeks away. With September 16 as the rumored release date, surely more news will become available in the next few days and weeks leading to the launch.

Be sure to check back here soon to find out more news and updates on the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 Pro as well as other great gadgets which are releasing soon.
