Looks like Intel?s Skylake will be giving a boost to the latest line of Macbooks.
If you are planning to purchase a new Macbook this year, you better wait for a bit longer for the latest version of Macbook. There are some leaks that hinted the presence of the latest Intel Y-series Skylake M Core processors to the notebooks, it will feature a low-power version of the CPU to provide lower energy consumption as well as around 17% faster CPU performance and 41% faster GPU performance, the Skylake-Y chips will be dubbed as Core m3, Core m5 and Core m7
And here?s what you can expect with the newest Macbooks:
The base version of the notebook will have the Intel Core M3 processor, The Core M3 6Y30 CPU will have a dual-core CPU clocked at 900MHz that can reach up to 2.2GHz with Turbo Boost activated, and it will also have a 4MB L3 cache and an integrated Intel HD515 graphics. It could be priced at $1,299.
Another info from the leak has revealed that there might be two mid-tier Macbooks available. The 6Y54 model will be clocked at 1.1GHZ up to 2.7GHz with Turbo Boost while the GY57 model can go up to 2.8GHz with Turbo Boost. Both will also feature the Intel HD515 integrated graphics. They will be priced at $1,599 in the market.
The high-end model, the 6Y75 will feature a 1.2GHz processor that can reach up to 3.1 GHz with Turbo Boost, and will have the same cache and Intel HD515 graphics. It will be priced at $1,749.
The HD515 graphics is said to have around 41% improved performance from its predecessor, previously Apple has been using discrete AMD graphics for their Macbook Pro, as well as using Nvidia graphics in early versions. No detail info regarding how well the HD515 will be on games and other high performance-eating applications.
