Apple is supposed to launch its MacBook Pro 2016 and iPhone 7, both rumored for release in September. Recent reports claim that the company could release the iPad Mini 5 during the same period.

Although Apple has not confirmed anything yet, it is reported that the company is working on a new iPad Mini device. Recently, the price details of the iPad Mini have surfaced on the internet. The price details indicate that the new device will be launched in three variants. The devices will vary in terms of onboard storage.

As reported for iPhone 7, Apple could discontinue the 16GB model of the iPad. That means the base model will have 32GB onboard storage and will cost approximately $450. So, the base model of the iPad Mini 5 will be bit expensive than the current 16GB variant of iPad Mini 4 that was launched with $399 price tag. The 64GB model will cost around $500, and the buyers will have to pay $600 for the 128GB variant.

According to MacWorld, iPad Mini 5 will be powered by the A9 processor. Apple could improve the display as well. Both main and front cameras will be the same as the current models, iPad Mini 4 includes 8 megapixel main and 1.2 megapixel front camera. iPad Mini 5 will be thinner than the current iPad Mini 4. The device will have a 7000-series aluminium chassis. The next-gen iPad Mini could be waterproof and dust-resistant.

The battery could be less powerful battery than the 5,124mAh component in the Mini 4. However, it will not affect the battery life as the processor will be more power efficient. The next-gen iPad Mini will most probably feature pressure sensitive 3D touch screen as it is already there in current iPhones. Similar to iPhone 7, iPad Mini 5 could be launched without the 3.5mm earphone jack. Moreover, the upcoming iPad mini could feature a touch sensitive home button as well.
