It could be that Apple is actually considering getting rid of the iPad Mini line and repackage it as an ?iPad Pro. This could be due to the ever increasing threat that Microsoft is posing to Apple?s iPad line of products.

There have been reports that many Apple users are switching to Microsoft especially after the MacBook Pro 2016 release. As of late, there has been an influx of consumers opting for Microsoft?s exchange program, according to a Microsoft blog. This could potentially hurt Apple?s revenue as well as the iPad product line.

For many years, Apple dominates the majority of tablet share. However, with the recent arrival of other worthy competitors like the Surface Pro, Apple?s crown is now for the taking.

There is a chance that instead of the iPad Air 3, consumers will see only the iPad Pro. The same goes for the iPad Mini 5. Chances are these two tablets will be merged into what Apple is marketing as pro tablets in order to keep up with the competition.

Nevertheless, these reports are, in the end, nothing but rumors. Although, in retrospect, some of these rumors can be true as many have seen in the past. In any case, these should be taken with a healthy pinch of salt.
