AnimeJapan 2017: Celebrating 100 Years of Japan’s Animation, See Events and Programs List

The biggest anime event in Japan is set to happen on March 24-26, 2017 at the Tokyo Big Sight in Koto-ku, Tokyo. The four-day convention will feature Japan’s leading animation companies under one roof. AnimeJapan 2017 will present “Everything of Anime” activities like exhibitions, goods-selling, announcements and many more.

AnimeJapan Organization spearheads the event and this will be their fourth one. According to their official site, “We aspire continuously to make such different wishes into shape while aiming to become the best ANIME event in the world.”

They also wrote, “The year 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of animation in Japan. With a state of constant gratitude for everyone who is involved in animation. We seek to pursue another 100 years to help you enjoy, discover, and love anime even further.”


AnimeJapan2017 Activities

Business area will happen for the first two days from 11 A.M. to 6 P.M. on the first day and 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. on the second. According to AnimeJapan, the Business Area “is for business/professional purposes who wish to meet the area’s exhibitors, learning the latest of anime/contents industry”.

On the last two days, the Main Area will open up for attendees. From 10 A.M. to 5 P.M., entertainment programs on stage, food park, Cosplayer’s World, and exhibition booths are accessible.

The Stages and Exhibitions

The area will feature Red, Green and Blue stages and the open stage. Each of the stages will include announcements of new series, talk shows and concerts.

The programs for the RGB stages include “Tiger Mask W” Special Talk Stage on Red. On Green, Natsume’s Book of Friends Special Stage will be featured. While on the Blue Stage, the TV Animation “RIN-NE” will be set.

Some of the event exhibitors include Animax, Gakken Plus, Aniplex and Attack on Titan Production Committee. Bandai Visual, Bandai Namco, Sunrise and Sony Enterprise are included as well.
