Anime Expo 2016 News & Updates: Attack on Titan and Dragon Ball Super Announced

It?s a big year for anime fans, as the recent Anime Expo 2016 held last July 1 to 4 delivered quite promising news. The event, which was attended by thousands of cosplayers and anime publishing insiders, held some panel interviews in order to deliver their news to the public. One of the most notable moments was when they finally announced the coming of ?Attack on Titan? and ?Dragon Ball Super?.

During the event, Viz Media revealed that finally, they were able to secure licenses for the ?Dragon Ball Super? and ?Attack on Titan? manga versions. In the case of ?Dragon Ball Super,? fans had been expecting the announcement. After all, Viz Media previously uploaded the first two chapters of the manga on their official website. At the time, the first two chapters were released for free reading.

Meanwhile, Kodansha Comics may have topped the series of revelations at the recent Anime Expo when they said the Attack on Titan Anthology is on its way. In a teaser provided by Kodansha Comics, the manga mega hit ?Attack on Titan? will be reinterpreted by renowned comics talents. In the panel interview, Kodansha revealed collaborating with Scott Snyder (Batman, American Vampire), Faith Erin Hicks (Adventures of Superhero Girl), Paolo Rivera (Daredevil, Amazing Spider-Man), Gail Simone (Batgirl), Michael Avon Oeming (Powers), Babs Tarr (Batgirl) and Cameron Stewart (Fight Club 2, Batgirl) in order to deliver the Attack on Titan Anthology.

Also, Kodansha revealed that they will be releasing an interactive light novel entitled Attack on Titan Adventures.

Meanwhile, much to the delight of anime fans, Crunchyroll also announced during Anime Expo 2016 that they will be streaming ?Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress? and along with that, disclosed plans to release dubbed anime series in English in the near future. But whether or not it will push through, Crunchyroll has already promised to release ?Free! Iwatobi Swim Club,? ?Berserk, Myriad Colors Phantom World,? ?Gintama,? ?Big Order? and ?Yamada-kun & the Seven Witches? in hard and physical copies.
