Following the Brangelina power couple’s divorce, news about Angelina Jolie seeking to be a top UN official has been circulating.
According to the rumors, the 41-year old actress divorced Brad Pitt, 52, so she can tow all their six kids to London. The reason for her London trip is to further her diplomatic experiences to land as the United Nation’s Secretary General.
Jolie’s reps say that the actress has no plans of moving to London since she is now focusing on her children’s well-being. Currently, the divorce-broken family is undergoing therapy sessions.
Angelina Jolie’s Career Paths
Angelina Jolie is an American actress and filmmaker. Aside from those roles, she is also a humanitarian. Over the course of her acting and filmmaking career, she has given her voice for the less-fortunate. On her film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, the community opened her eyes to the issues of people around the world.
She focuses on refugee issues on her humanitarian work. She went to visit countries like Cambodia, Syria and Iraq as a philanthropist. The Maddox Jolie-Pitt foundation, named after their first son, is built in Cambodia to aid poverty in the country.
Three of the couple’s six children were internationally adopted. Maddox, 15, is from Cambodia, Zahara, 10, is from Ethiopia while Pax, 12, is from Vietnam.
Back to the rumors, the whole Brangelina divorce issue is all part of the plot to fly Jolie to London. This includes her claim that Pitt is an abusive father. According to TMZ, Angeline relied on two English political advisers to orchestrate this move. The source also claims that these two convinced the Maleficent star she has a chance to get the top UN post.
TMZ also claims that the actress has built a ‘war room’ where she could plan trips. This is also after the fact that Jolie was hired as a visiting professor in the London School of Economics.
If the rumor is true, Angelina Jolie’s goal to land as UN’s secretary general may only be possible on January 2022. Antonio Guterres, former prime minister of Portugal, will play the role as secretary general for UN this coming January 1, 2017.
