Nougat Update

Google just released the latest OS version Android Nougat to the public. If you are a Nexus device owner, you can download the version 7.0 of the firmware right away. However, do check out if your device is eligible to receive the update from the list given below.

The Android N comes bundled with a slew of new features, enhancements and many changes to the existing characteristics of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

What?s New In Android 7.0?

Some of the key Android Nougat features include a bunch of impressive emoticons, split-screen feature, many usability changes and battery improvement, among others.

If you are an Android user for a long time, you would know that every app you open will stay active in the background, which takes a toll on the battery life. With?Nougat onboard, the system will apparently close down all the unused apps after a stipulated period of time. The working of this aspect sounds similar to how Marshmallow?s Doze mode worked.

While it closes down all the unused apps, the system will reportedly leave the last seven apps used by you.

To top it off, Google has added a ?clear all? button. By clicking this button, Android Nougat will close down all the apps at a time.

The search giant has reportedly added 72 emojis to keep you happy when messaging via an Android device.

A new feature called ?quick switch? will apparently let device users to double tap the overview button to switch between recently used apps.

Unlike?Marshmallow, you can now flaunt different wallpapers in the homescreen and lockscreen.

The multitasking capability is not just for the mobile devices, in fact Android TV gets picture-in-picture mode. With this feature, users can preview a video in a small box at one corner when working on some other thing in the screen.

With Android Nougat,?Google has introduced ?direct reply.? As the name implies, you can quickly reply to any message even without opening the messaging app.

The world has been taken over by VR and AR. And hence, Google has added support to Virtual Reality in its Android Nougat. This OS supports Google?s VR Daydream. However, the device should also be Daydream-compatible.

Furthermore, the long-awaited background updates is finally here. With this OS, device users need not take a break when installing an update. The system will do the installation process as a background activity, while letting you do what you want to.

Google?s official page says ?Nougat allows you to select from 100 new languages and 25 locales for commonly used languages such as English, Spanish, French, and Arabic.?
