Google?s latest mobile OS, the Android Nougat 7.0 update, has started rolling out across several smartphone brands. While several of the manufacturers have already updated their flagship models, the update is now seeding for the new set of handsets. The latest Android update is Nougat 7.1.1 but many are still receiving the older version of Android 7.0 update.
Samsung?s flagship Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users can now grab the fourth major update to the Android 7.0 Nougat beta. The new build ZPLH includes bug fixes, according to the notice going out to beta program members.
Also, it claims to remove the Samsung Notes app that was added a couple of builds back. The app, however, can still be downloaded later though some reports say it remains despite the update. The Samsung Experience version added in the previous build has been removed too.
Google?s Android 7.0 Nougat update has started to roll out for two more Xperia smartphones. Following November?s rollout for Sony Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ, Sony expands the rollout to more devices. Xperia X, Xperia X Dual, and Xperia X Compact are getting the Nougat update now.
The update has the build number 34.2.A.0.266 and is 1276.7MB in size, reports NDTV Gadgets. Users reported update rolling out in Australia, India, Latin America, Middle East, Russia, Turkey, Thailand and Vietnam as of now.
Xperia XA and Xperia XA Ultra will receive Android 7.0 Nougat in early 2017. Xperia Z5 series, Xperia Z3+, and Xperia Z4 Tablet are other devices. The Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z4v are?entirely left out of the Nougat rollout.
Motorola has confirmed the Android 7.0 Nougat update for its Moto G4, G4 Play and Moto Z devices. The Lenovo-owned company has already rolled out the OS to the Moto G4 Plus, Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Droid Force. The new firmware update for Moto G4 and Moto Z Play will rollout within the?month, reports IBTimes.
However, other devices like Motorola handsets such as Moto G Play (4th Gen), Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 will receive Android 7.0 Nougat update only next year.
The Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto X (3rd Gen), Moto G3, Moto E3 and Moto E3 Power are?not?in list of eligible handsets to receive the firmware. It remains unsure whether or not these devices will receive the update.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer announced the Nougat update for six of its smartphones. So far, only the Xiaomi Mi 5 has received the firmware and others are expected to receive the update in the first quarter of 2017. The company confirmed the update through Weibo.
Xiaomi Android 7.0 Nougat update list includes Xiaomi Mi 4c, Xiaomi Mi 4S and Xiaomi Mi Note. They will be among the first to receive the update, followed by the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus and Xiaomi Mi Max. Xiaomi, however, failed to announce the update for the Redmi series.
