As it turns out, the Finnish OEM ?Nokia? is back with two new devices. These Nokia phones will apparently be running Google?s Android OS out of the box.
Past reports suggested that even though?Nokia?s brand name will be part of the new devices, the units will be manufactured and assembled by HMD Global. ?Nokia apparently signed a ?strategic brand and intellectual property licensing agreement? with HMD global in order to design and make the next-generation of Nokia-branded handsets.
Android Nokia Phones: Specifications, Features, Design
A fresh report from the credible tech site,?Nokia Power User, says one of the Nokia phones will carry a 5.2-inch display, while the other will be flaunting a huge 5.5-inch screen.
The report also says these smartphones will be featuring a 2K/QHD screen resolution. The display technology preferred by Nokia is apparently the ubiquitous OLED panel.
Design-wise, Nokia is not going to settle for the tried and tested plastic/polycarbonate chassis. Instead, a premium metallic design with the retro Nokia-centric charm can be expected out of the two devices.
Under the hood, both smartphones will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm?s Snapdragon 820 chipset. Even though the RAM configuration is unknown at this point, it is safe to assume that being a high-end device, Nokia will not go any lesser than 3GB.
To top it all off, the two Android Nokia phones will apparently come with an IP68 rating, similar to the current-generation handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S7 series and Sony Xperia Z lineup. This IP rating guarantees dust-resistance and water-protection when the device is dipped in up to 3 feet of water for about 30 minutes.
Camera-wise, the high-end Nokia phone will reportedly sport a killer 22.6-megapixel rear-facing snapper, while the configuration of the base model is unknown. However, the same site says Nokia is using the ?most sensitive? sensor ever and will apparently be based on Nokia?s ?extensive research on [a] wonder material [called] Graphene.?
Android Nokia Phones: Release Date, Price
Gizmo China says the two Android-powered Nokia phones will debut in China sometime towards the end of 2016. If not, the other possible date is the first quarter of 2017. Price-wise, these handsets will apparently be retailing around 3000 yuan (i.e. about $500).
