Finally, Google?s upcoming operating system has got its name. Android N will be now Android ?Nougat?. Google has confirmed it via Android?s Twitter account. There were speculations that the company could go for Android ?Nutella.?
Android N was announced at the company?s annual developer?s conference. At the time of announcement, the company has asked its users to suggest the name for Android N. Now the company has thanked its fans and users on Twitter while introducing the official name of Android N.
Android ?Nougat? is currently available to Google?s registered developers. The company has not provided any details regarding the release date of Android Nougat on smartphones. However, there are speculations that the new operating system will be launched this summer.
According to GSMArena, Google has also installed the statue of Android Nougat ?in front of its headquarters in Mountain View, California.
The name is as sweet as its exciting features. The Android ?Nougat? includes features that makes it better than Apple?s upcoming iOS 10. The best features of Android Nougat includes an improved notification shade and ?Doze?, new Google Assistant, night mode and more.
The new operating system will include a VR mode especially designed for the company’s recently launched VR headset, ?Daydream?. With the VR mode, Daydream would support a number of different Android devices.This new app would let the users take advantage of intelligent head-tracking and stereo notifications that work for VR.
Another useful app is the ?multiwindow? that is available in Android ?Nougat?. With this app, the users can perform two different tasks at the same time. It shows two apps in a split screen. The feature is already in several Samsung and LG phones. Now, it will be available in every device that will run Android Nougat.
There are a few more updates including sustained performance mode, keyboard shortcuts helper and reply in a notification without opening an application.
