Android M Update Released for Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium and Z3 Plus

Sony has declared that Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium and Z3 Plus will receive the Android Marshmallow update over the weekend.

The announcement was shared via Sony?s official Twitter account, stating, ??If you have #Xperia Z3+ / Z5 / Z5 Premium – it’s ” M for the weekend ” time. #India \m/ :)?

With a total download size of 1280 MB (1.2GB), the update includes reinforced privacy settings encompassing the capability to oversee and regulate your application data permissions. Backing up your smartphone before updating is recommended as well.

The most recent Android M update also features a new camera interface for easier manipulation, smarter battery life, the capability to shift between modes in addition to using simple gestures to customize settings, Xperia Messaging and direct share. The direct share feature permits you to share activities from the handset directly to your friends and recent contacts.

In October last year, both Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium were released in India at the prices of Rs 52,990 and Rs 62,990, respectively. Xperia Z5 was released as an update to the Xperia flagship line and the Z5 Premium was an upgrade to the Z5.

The Z5 comes with a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920p) display, while the Z5 Premium spotlights a 5.5-inch 4K Triluminos display. The heating problem previously presented from the Z5 predecessor, Z3, has also been solved starting with the former.

The Xperia Z3 Plus was released in July last year, succeeding the previous Z3 devices. It comes with a 5.2-inch full HD display and the performance of its camera is one of the best. The Z3 is also water and dust resistant, a feature continued on to its successors.

Sony also plans to launch the Xperia Marshmallow beta program to choose its Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z2 devices, with details to be announced soon.
