Android 7.0 is coming and it will hit a mass variety of devices. Rumors suggest that HTC?s 2016 Nexus phones will be released on October, named Sailfish and Marlin. It will be the first devices that will come with pre-installed Android 7.0 Nougat. The following flagship smartphones are expected to get the Android 7.0 Nougat update
Samsung Galaxy Note 7
However Koh Dong Jin, Samsung?s Communications President has disclosed that Android 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy Note 7 will begin soon, it is expected to begin in two to three months.
Hence, it will be released on November or October. Rumors suggest that Google will unveil their new Nexus devices along with the release of the new Android Operating System. However Koh Dong-jin wanted to beta test the new OS before they release it publicly.
Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X
While google remained tight-lipped about the release date of the Android 7.0, their tradition can be a good source on how and when will the new OS get released. The Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X are rumored to be the first smartphones to get the Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade.
Unfortunately, Nexus 5 form 2013 and the older Nexus 7 tablets are unlikely to get the updates. Google has always supported their devices with a variety of softwares for only up to two years. Hence, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 owners shouldn?t expect the new OS in their smartphones.
LG G5, LG V20
LG G5 has launched the Preview Program on LG U+ in Korea that will enable G5 users try out the new Android 7.0 Nougat. However, Preview Program only supports up to 2000 users, hence, the basis will be first come, first serve.
Users can register today and registrations will end until all of the 2000 slots are occupied. The upcoming LG V20 is speculated as the first non-Nexus phone to arrive pre-installed with Android 7.0 Nougat.
HTC has confirmed that it will be releasing Android 7.0 Nougat to HTC 10 users as soon as it is officially made available. It will also make the upgrade available to HTC One M9 and One A9 smartphones.
Sony Xperia X Performance
Sony?s flagship line of smartphones, Sony Xperia X Performance. Will also be receiving the update. Sony provided the regions that are viable for the update, this includes Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Iceland, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Netherlands.
Sony will also pick a lucky user to participate in the Beta Program. Once picked, users will be receive a notification update. Users outside of the given regions will not be able to update their devices to the latest Android version or participate in the Beta Program
