Google has released the fifth and final Android 7.0 Developer Preview edition. The latest Android 7.0 Nougat update can be installed on compatible devices like Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. Now that the final build has been released, speculations suggest that Google Nexus 2016 release date is close at hand.
Google is known for revealing its newest Android OS through its Google I/O event. However, the search engine giant adopted a different strategy this year. It had released the first Android 7.0 Developer Preview in March and the company confirmed at the Google I/O 2016 event that it will be releasing five preview builds before releasing the final public build.
The fifth and final preview build is now available and it can be availed by enrolling the Android Beta program. It is available for devices like Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Pixel C and General Mobile 4G (Android One).
Since Google is known for unleashing new version of Android OS through new Nexus smartphones, the upcoming Google Nexus 2016 smartphones by HTC will come preinstalled with Android 7.0 Nougat.
Google has confirmed in the past it will be releasing the full version of Android N in the third quarter of this year. Hence, speculations are rife that the Google Nexus 2016 release date may happen by September. However, it is unlikely that Google will release its upcoming Nexus smartphones in September which is the same month Apple will be announcing its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones.
Hence, speculations are rife that the Google Nexus 2016 release date will be scheduled in August. Google is rumored to release two Nexus smartphones this year. Both phones are codenamed as Sailfish and Marlin.
The Nexus 2016 Sailfish will be coming with midrange specs like 2.0 GHz quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB storage and 2,770 mAh battery. The Nexus 2016 Marlin will be a flagship smartphone with specs like 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 821 chipset, 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 3,450 mAh battery.
