Google is reportedly set to roll out the Android 7.0 Nougat OS on Aug. 25.

Google revealed the name of its coming OS, previously referred to as Android N, in late June. The tech giant unveiled a Nougat themed lawn statue following a contest where fans voted for the Android N name. Since then, release details for the software have been scarce, outside of developer preview software releases.

The new Android N OS will bring revolutionary software features optimized for maximum productivity as the devices and OS will be marketed to professionals and businesses, which productivity is of utmost importance.

Below is the timeline of smartphones slated to get the Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

Nexus Smartphones

As usual, Nexus smartphones are the first in line in getting the Android 7.0 Nougat OS. This year, the Android operating system will be introduced by HTC Marlin and Sailfish.


Being the manufacturer of this year?s smartphones, it is most likely that HTC will receive the new Android OS. In the past, HTC has been prompt in rolling out the new Android OS.


Huawei users can also expect the latest Android operating system soon. Huawei is a trusted partner of Google and was in charged of making Nexus 6P. Rumors claimed that Huawei is also making a Nexus 7 2016 tablet.


LG is another trusted partner of Google and has released the Nexus smartphones over the years. ?LG is also prompt in rolling out the Android OS for its devices.


Samsung trails behind the Android-based manufacturers as it often rolls out its version of Android OS later than other companies. Moreover, Samsung users were disappointed with the delayed roll out of Android OS.
