The AMD Vega is the next big thing that countless tech fans have been waiting for. The upcoming GPU was shown off by AMD during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017. While the company did not reveal when exactly the AMD Vega release is going to happen, a recent leak has provided information as to when it is likely to be.
The AMD Vega architecture is poised to become a major turning point for the company. It is expected to be four times as powerful as the company’s Radeon Polaris architecture. The Vega is rumored to have twice the bandwidth per pin and twice the peak throughput per clock than the Polaris.
AMD Vega Leaks
All of these features have generated a lot of buzz for the AMD Vega. This is exactly why many people are waiting for it to finally launch. Well, it appears that it is going to happen in 2017 although it could be in the second quarter of the year.
According to PC Perspective, internal slides were recently leaked which revealed that the AMD Vega 10 and Vega 20 are set to be available by the end of the first half of 2017. The AMD Vega 10 and Vega 20 are the first Vega GPUs set to release. This is surely going to cause a lot of excitement from tech fans all over the world. If the AMD Vega delivers on its promised performance, it is likely going to rival NVIDIA very soon.
At present, NVIDIA is no doubt the king of the GPU’s as it has launched several powerful graphics cards in the market. It may not have that title for long though as the same report also mentions that the Vega’s successor which is called the Navi is set to launch as early as 2019.
