The Voice Australia 2016 is over and the last man standing was Alfie Arcuri. The architect emerged as the victor of the much anticipated singing competition in Australia, defeating his own teammate in Team Delta Goodrem.
The 28-year-old New South Wales native became only the second male artist to take home the title. Arcuri, of course, thanked his mentor in the reality search for guiding him and the rest of the team. According to him, Delta has been their rock and guidance especially towards the end of The Voice.
While it was Arcuri who really owned the night, it appears that it was Delta Goodrem who stole the spotlight from her artist unintentionally. Here?s a rundown on why Delta was indeed the real big winner of the finale episode.
First and foremost, even before Arcuri was proclaimed as the new champion of the show, she was already a winner coach as the top 2 artists remaining for the battle was both from her team, Arcuri and Adam Ladell. So whoever between the two won the competition, she?d still be the champion coach for the season.
It was also a sweet victory for Delta as this will be her first win in the show after coaching for five seasons in The Voice Australia.
Also, her team?s victory coincided with her success on the music charts. That day (the finale showdown of the singing contest), Delta topped the ARIA charts. So yeah, Delta Goodrem was able to hit two birds in one night.
Meanwhile, Arcuri, aside from getting the prestige of being the winner of The Voice Australia 2016, will also took home a $100,000 cash prize, a new Mazda 3 car and a recording contract with Universal Music Australia.
Arcuri performed three songs during the final show: Catapult, Beneath Your Beautiful and a duet with his coach for his new single, Cruel. He is also the first artist to be aired for this season?s blinds auditions and eventually the only man standing.
Delta was so proud of the achievement of Arcuri saying, ?I couldn’t be prouder. I am just so proud for the two of them to be here and Alfie to be crowned.?
