As expected, Matt, the eldest son in the Alaskan Bush People family, finally confessed about his drinking problems. It was previously rumored that Alaskan Bush People Season 4 will feature an on-cam confession from the reality star. However, that has yet to happen, as his recent admission was in an interview with a magazine. It appears though that he may have lied in his confession. This is because?his family seemed to have known about his drinking problems before, contrary to what he claimed in the interview.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Matt admitted that he recently went to rehab for his problems with alcohol abuse. The eldest son from the reality series said that he finished 35 days of treatment. However, he emphasized that he is not an alcoholic, contrary to previous reports.
He further stated that he kept his drinking habit from his family who don?t drink, as ?there was a shame for feeling weak.? However, he reportedly had no choice but to tell them?about it?when he decided to go to rehab. According to him, his younger brother Gabe was the first to know.
However, according to Radar Online, ?that?s not exactly true.? Apparently,?when Matt was arrested for DUI back in 2013, his father Billy was the one who bailed him out. Obviously, his father was somehow aware of his habits then or his activities when he?s in Juneau.
The last episode of Alaskan Bush People Season 4 also somehow contradicts this. It showed Billy confronting Matt about his weird behavior. The episode somehow implied that it?s the first time for Billy to be concerned about Matt. It seemed that he was not aware of the exact problems his son is dealing with.
Whether it?s another lie?or not, fans may soon find out. Alaskan Bush People Season 4 is expected to focus on Matt?s story as the show progresses. The reality series airs every Friday night at 9 p.m. on Discovery Channel.
