What a day to celebrate being a gamer when Bill Gates is planning to bring back a classic game franchise.
Looks like Bill Gates heard the fans? plea to bring back the popular Age of Empires game. In a recent Ask Me Anything session on Reddit, a Reddit user asked Gates regarding any plans for a new Age of Empires game. Here are the exact words that the user said:
?Mr. Gates, can we please have another Age of Empires? Not sure if this is your department, but I figured I’d ask since you were here…?
Of course, these are those kinds of situations where it might never happen when just asking it in Ask Me Anything sessions. But the fun fact with these sessions is that the highlighted celebrities are ones who are answering the questions and not just some scripted scenarios, so all of the responses are genuine. So what did Bill Gates said as a response to the question? Below is what he actually said:
?I will look into this. How many empires do you need??
The response was so intense, the entire thread went nuts. And the funny part, despite Bill Gates being retired as boss of Microsoft and currently busy with his philanthropy, he still has some authority over Microsoft as he is still the co-founder of the company. The Age of Empires game has not seen a single new game release for quite some time. Though it released an HD edition for one of its popular game, it still does not count as an entire new game release. It now has three released games (Age of Empires I-III), a remastered version (Age of Empires II HD) and a couple of spin-off games (Age of Mythology). It has been a long time since fans were able to play an entirely new Age of Empires game and it was a relief that Bill Gates is planning to bring it back once again.
The next question is when it will actually happen.
