The return of Adele is a big deal?few artists move as many albums as she does. Her last album, 21, spawned three Billboard No. 1 singles and sold more than 10 million copies in the U.S. alone.
Adele has confirmed that her next album, the follow-up to her smash 2011 LP 21, will be a “make-up record” titled 25, her age at the time of recording. In an open letter on Twitter, the now-27-year-old singer apologized to fans for the long wait between albums. “25 is about getting to know who I’ve become without realizing,” she wrote. “And I’m sorry it took so long but, you know, life happened, reported Rolling Stone.
According to CNN, the 27-year-old singer also offered an apology of sorts for the delay in readying the new album, which has been rumored to be coming, oh, any time now since about 2013.
“25 is about getting to know who I’ve become without realising,” she said. “And I’m sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened.”With “25,” Adele also continues her pattern of titling her albums after the age she was when she was writing and recording them.
