According to Christina?s brother Marcus Grimmie, Adam Levine made a phone call to his mother and offered to pay for the funeral of Christina Grimmie.
?Adam Levine personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight. I was blown away,? Marcus Grimmie tells EOnline.
Christina Grimmie was the 22-year-old singer and recording artist who was shot dead on June 10, 2016 while signing autographs at The Plaza Live, where she earlier opened for the band Before You Exit. Her death came just a day before the mass shooting at the gay nightclub The Pulse, which claimed some 50 innocent lives and injured 50 others.
The 37-year-old Adam Levine was Christina Grimmie?s vocal coach back when she was a contestant in the singing show The Voice. Adam was more than a mentor to Christina. Aside from helping her reach third place, Adam even offered her a record deal for his company 222 Records.
Through his Twitter account, Adam said that the news left him and his wife Behati shocked and devastated.

Adam Levine also posted kind words about Christina on his Facebook: ?Christina was a natural, a gifted talent that comes along so rarely. She was taken from us too soon. This is yet another senseless act of extreme violence. I am left stunned and confused how these things can conceivably continue to happen in our world.?
Christina Grimmie?s brother Marcus, who tackled the gunman before he shot himself, posted on his Facebook account a heartfelt tribute for his slain sister. Marcus said Christina was his ?partner in life? and a ?superstar.? He also encouraged his Facebook followers to share pictures of her sister and the good memories that they have of?her.
?By now I’m sure many you have heard that Christina has passed away due to gunfire after a show. I really don’t have much to say about anything and am just blown away with the prayers and support. I PROMISE I will respond to everyone when I can.
?Christina was more than my sister. She was a partner in life. A superstar. A goofball. Introverted. And a friend to everyone. Genuinely. But above all…she was my baby sister. She loved the Lord and her family and was always there for me and I honestly don’t know what ill do without her.
?But please, if you are reading this far, I would love all and any of you to post pics of you and her and/or memories you have of her down in the comments. I will cherish it forever and always. So please do that for me. Thank you all so so much. The support has been crazy and I do feel a peace. I just don’t have any words. I love you all.?
A candlelight vigil was also held in New Jersey to commemorate the life and pray for the soul of Christina Grimmie.
