Capcom’s Ace Attorney video game series has a forthcoming anime adaption Gyakuten Saiban. The developer made an announcement last year at the Tokyo Game Show.

The official website disclosed that the anime will premiere on April 2 in Japan. The anime will be directed by Ayumu Watanabe (Doraemon films) and A1 Pictures will handle the animation. The series composition will be done by Atsuhiro Tomioka (Pok?mon XY). Keiko ?ta (Hyakko) will design the characters. Kaoru Wada (Princess Tutu) will compose the music. The chief producer of the adaptation will be Yuji Kikukawa.

The cast of the movie will include Y?ki Kaji as Ryuichi Naruhodou (Phoenix Wright), Aoi Y?ki as ?Mayoi Ayasato (Maya Fey), Chie Nakamura as Chihiro Ayasato (Mia Fey), Masashi Tamaki as Reiji Mitsurugi (Miles Edgeworth), Masami Iwasaki as Keisuke Itonokogiri (Dick Gumshoe) and ?T?ru Nara as Masashi Yahari (Larry Butz).

Anime News Network cited a report from The Crank In! website and revealed that the movie?s title will be Gyakuten Saiban: Sono “Shinjitsu, “Igi Ari! (Ace Attorney: That “Truth,” Is Objection!). But the Akiba S?ken website describes that the anime?s tagline will be “Sono ‘Shinjitsu,’ Igi Ari!”

The game series for the Game Boy Advance was launched by CAPCOM in Japan in 2001. It was followed by shipping a port for the Nintendo DS in Japan and four years later in the West, pointed Anime News Network.

The game is about a defense attorney called Ryuuichi Naruhodou (Phoenix Wright in English versions). He uses ?investigative skills, cross-examinations, and evidence? to fight the cases for his clients in a courtroom set up which more or less is similar to that of the ?Japanese legal system.?

CAPCOM is in the development process of Ace Attorney 6 for the Nintendo 3DS and also has ?plans to bring the game to the West.? CAPCOM also asserted that in 2016, it will ship the game in Japan.
